CNVLD Athlete Van Vun to Compete in Angkor Wat International Half Marathon
ANZ Royal CNVLD Wheelie Grand Prix Male National Champion Van Vun will compete in the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon on Sunday 6th December with the aim of smashing his personal best time over 21km.
As the Official Cambodian Nominee to attempt to the first ever athlete with a disability from the nation to qualify for Paralympic wheelchair racing events, Vun has been hard in training every day since July 2009 covering over 700km in a strict routine.
The 23 year old champion made his intentions clear at the recent ANZ Royal CNVLD Wheelie Grand Prix 2009 2nd Round Race in Kompong Cham on 21st November when he obliterated the field of 25 athletes by taking Gold over 200m in 33.4 seconds.
On Sunday 6th December, Vun intends to break the one-hour mark for 21km at Angkor Wat, placing him firmly at the top as the very best Cambodian wheelchair racer in history and establish his credentials as the only Cambodian athlete with a disability with a chance of qualifying for London 2012.
