The CNVLD is very pleased to announce that the CNVLD Battambang Women’s Wheelchair Program will commence formal training on Friday 6th July 2012 with training to take place from Friday to Monday of each week. The custom made basketball wheelchairs donated by DSR are now in Battambang along with a large bag of high quality Spalding basketballs courtesy of support from Australian Red Cross.
The CNVLD is also very pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Sieng Sorchan as the new Wheelchair Basketball Program Manager (Sorchan has replaced Tata who has moved to Thailand). Sorchan has been with the CNVLD for over 10 years holding a number of senior coaching positions and the CNVLD HQ is very confident in Sorchan ability to effectively manage the program. Sorchan will be assisted by Ms. Leng Sothery who has been appointed assistant program Manager.

Australian Wheelchair basketball Coach Gary Connor will arrive on 27th of July and the athletes will go into a 2 week full time training program under the skilled supervision of Gary. The Wheelchair basketball Program is specifically designed to provide sporting and socio economic opportunity to Cambodian women with a Disability in rural Cambodia and the CNVLD is very proud to add another sport to the list of Cambodian Disability Sports now being practiced in Cambodia.
