CNVLD: Cambodia’s Leading Sports and Cultural Event Management Team
The CNVLD, a unique Cambodian NGO, is also one of Cambodia’s leading event management and marketing organizations with an ongoing disability slant to a broad spectrum of activities.
In 2010, the CNVLD will broaden its event management program in line with a specific request made by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen - following the outstanding success of the 2009 Cellcard Volleyball World Cup - for the CNVLD to continue to assist showcasing Cambodia to the world and to encourage tourism whilst retaining the special focus on Cambodians with a disability. The CNVLD will initially fulfill Samdech Hun Sen’s request by hosting two further international disability sports events in 2010 in addition to the Cellcard National Volleyball League and ANZ Royal Wheelie Grand Prix core annual programmes.
Uniquely positioned to fulfill the mandate provided by the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the CNVLD has been acknowledged internationally for its outstanding contribution to sport in Cambodia. In recognition of the CNVLD’s exceptional international marketing and vast and extensive experience in implementing sporting programmes for the persons with a disability of Cambodia, UNESCO presented a Fairplay Award to Secretary General Christopher Minko in 2002.
"Sport...well taught, can be a basic building block of a civic culture based on fair play, respect for the rules, team work and most of all friendship that transcends competition”.
Mr. Federico Mayor: UNESCO Director-General (1987-1999)
CNVLD Secretary General Christopher Minko’s professional background as a major event producer provides him the ideal perspective to implement such prestigious programmes having worked for Australia’s largest sporting body, the AFL, and having directed Australia’s largest outdoor festival.
The CNVLD also draws on a great team of volunteers including over 200 young Cambodian employees from Cellcard, DDD and ANZ Royal Bank to ensure the professional and international standard management of events. Current reigning volleyball world champions Germany recently voted the Cambodia Cellcard 2009 WOVD Volleyball World Cup as the best world cup they’ve ever competed in.
Under the patronage of Prime Minister Samdech Akemohasenapadey Decho Hun Sen and in cooperation with President of the Cambodian Red Cross Lok Chumteav Dr. Bun Rany Hunsen the CNVLD looks forward to announcing an exciting 2010 programme of international sports and cultural events in Cambodia.
